Car company Tesla has decided to recall a large number of vehicles from China |
A malfunction in the driving software (cruise control function) of US electric car maker Tesla has led to the company deciding to recall more than 285,000 of its vehicles from China. The state-of-the-art market regulator says the Chinese government has instructed Tesla in a notice to contact car buyers themselves and update their software free of charge, according to Tesla. The cruise control function of some domestic and exported vehicles of Model 3 and Model Y of electric cars has malfunctioned which could lead to an accident. It has come to light that the speed of the vehicle automatically becomes very fast while it is moving, which is difficult to control immediately, which can lead to major accidents. The State of the Market Regulation also states that a driver can activate software that is faulty in the cruise control system with the slightest negligence, which can lead to a collision.
It should be noted that according to Tesla's website, the cruise control function controls the speed of the vehicle according to the surrounding traffic and this is Tesla's key autopilot driving function. Shares of Tesla have fallen 8% in the capital market since the news broke yesterday.
