BERLIN: A colorful snail found in Cuba has been named the beautiful three-legged mollusk this year. In online voting, this snail got 10,000 votes while the total number of votes was just over 16,000.
The decision was announced in a press release issued by the German research institute Schoenberg, stating that in this global beauty contest of molluscs, 50 species were initially selected, of which only 5 were final and Happened to the decisive stage.
Photographs of the five centenarians were then posted on the agency's website and social media account. Scientists and consumers alike were asked to decide on the most beautiful of them all.
The online poll, which ran from February 25 to March 15, polled just over 16,000 votes, of which 10,092 votes went to the colorful snail, which makes up 62% of all votes cast. They range in length from 20 to 30 millimeters, and are found only in the rainforests of the narrow coastal strip of eastern Cuba, in extremely dry places. The snail is both male and female, although Propagates by mingling with other snails of the breed in an untouched manner.
